Inter Divisional Commission on Developing Countries encourages the exchange and dissemination of scientific information between the various scientific communities in developing countries in terms of the defined scope of IAGA. The aim of this Commission is to increase the participation of developing countries in IAGA activities, and therefore encourages IAGA activities specifically in areas of special interest to developing countries. Many developing countries are either located in close proximity to phenomena such as the Equatorial Electrojet or have a geographical advantage to study geomagnetic features like the South Atlantic Anomaly.  ICDC will support and organize sessions during IAGA and IUGG meetings of particular interest to developing countries as defined in terms of the broad scope of IAGA.
