Resolution No.17 (1971): Collaborative palaeomagnetic and radiometric dating research

IAGA recommends urgently that member countries support collaborative palaeomagnetic and radiometric dating research for the purposes of:

  1. determining the reversal time scale more accurately using rocks from all countries,
  2. obtaining more information about the fine structure of polarity events and polarity transitions.
