Resolution No.8 (1971): Project Geophysical Test Ground in the Antarctic
IAGA endorses the project Geophysical Test Ground in the Antarctic scheduled for 1975 which is intended to:
- Determine the locations and minimal number of stations required for analysis of the temporal and spatial distributions of high-latitude geophysical variations;
- Investigate the effect of geophysical variations on the state of the lower atmosphere;
- Continue the work associating geophysical variations in the polar cap with various parameters of the solar wind and the structure of the interplanetary magnetic field.
